Ramadan has started in Palestine

Ramadan News: Ramadan has started in many countries of the Middle East. People in Palestine started fasting on Monday. However, the war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for the last 5 months. Meanwhile, prayers were offered amidst the debris of dilapidated buildings on Sunday night. Some people welcomed Ramzan by decorating the tents being used as shelter.

There has been war for five months. More than 30 thousand Palestinians have been killed in this war. Whereas most of Gaza has been turned into a pile of debris. Due to shortage of food items, the question has arisen as to how people observing Roza (fast) will eat ‘Iftar’ in the evening. “You won’t see happiness in anyone’s eyes,” said Sabah al-Hendi, who was buying food in Rafah on Sunday. Every family is sad. Someone from every family has been martyred.”

Aid material being sent by helicopters

The US and other countries have in recent days begun sending food supplies by planes and helicopters, but humanitarian groups say the supplies are expensive and inadequate. A ship belonging to Spain’s aid group ‘Open Arms’ is expected to arrive in Gaza from neighboring Cyprus carrying 200 tonnes of food items. However, it is not clear when this ship will depart.
