Supreme Court sent notice to SBI on electoral bond case, sought response from banks – India TV Hindi

Supreme Court sent notice to SBI

Following the order of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission of India released the data related to electoral bonds on March 14. The data related to electoral bonds is the same data which was shared by SBI with the Election Commission on March 12. Two lists have been released on the website of the Election Commission. It has a total of 763 pages which include the names of companies and people purchasing electoral bonds. In this matter, the Supreme Court has now issued a notice to State Bank of India and sought its reply. The Supreme Court has allowed ECI’s request to return the data uploaded on the website.

Supreme Court asked for answer

The Supreme Court said that the Judicial Registrar of the apex court should ensure that the documents are scanned and digitalized and after the completion of the bar process, the documents are returned to the ECI. He will upload it on the website on or before March 17. Let us tell you that the Supreme Court has sought a reply from SBI in this regard by Monday. Let us tell you that after the strict order of the Supreme Court, SBI had handed over the data of electoral bonds to the Election Commission of India on Wednesday. According to the order, the Election Commission has uploaded this data on its website on Thursday itself. However, no unique number of any bond is given in it.

SBI got time till March 18

Let us tell you that during the hearing of this case, the constitutional bench headed by CJI Chandrachud told the State Bank of India that we had clear instructions. We had asked to give complete details related to electoral bonds. But the unique number information has not been shared. This information will have to be given to SBI immediately. Let us tell you that SBI has been given time till March 18 to share the unique number information. Let us tell you that 2 lists have been released by the Election Commission. One list contains the names of those purchasing the bonds and the other list contains the names of the parties paying the bond amount.
