Dilshan Madushanka got injured
A three-match ODI series is being played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Two matches have been played in the series and the series is tied at 1-1. But in the second match of the series, Sri Lankan team’s young fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka got injured. For this reason, he will not take further part in the series and will return to Sri Lanka for rehabilitation. Dilshan Madushanka suffered a left hamstring injury while bowling in the second ODI. This has been confirmed in the MRI scan.
Mumbai Indians team had paid so much money
Dilshan Madushanka’s injury is no less than a shock for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai team has bought him for Rs 4.60 crore. Whereas his base price was only Rs 50 lakh. Due to hamstring injury, the bowler has to rest for one to two weeks. In such a situation, it seems difficult for him to play in the initial matches of IPL 2024.
Strong performance in ODI World Cup
Dilshan Madushanka has performed well for some time now. In the ODI World Cup 2023, he took a total of five wickets against the Indian team. He took a total of 21 wickets in 9 matches of ODI World Cup 2023 and emerged as the biggest match winner for the Sri Lankan team. He has taken 41 wickets in 23 ODI matches and 14 wickets in 14 T20I matches for Sri Lanka. Apart from this, he has also played one test match.
