Two coaches of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker Express got separated from the moving train on Thursday morning near Surat in Gujarat. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. Many train accidents have occurred in recent times and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is on the target of the opposition for this.
A statement issued by the Western Railway (WR) said that the incident took place at around 8.50 am when the train (number 12932) reached the Gothangam yard between Sion and Surat railway stations. No one was injured in the incident and the detached coaches were later attached to the train.
Western Railway said on social media platform ‘X’ that repair work was started immediately after the incident and up trains were run through the loop line. Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek said that the movement of other trains on the route was not affected. Later, Western Railway announced that the repair work was completed and traffic was restored on the sub main line at 11.22 am.
