When Kailash Vijayvargiya ‘predicted’ about civil war, Congress got angry

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has claimed that a retired army officer has told him that a ‘civil war’ could start in the country after 30 years, citing ‘changing demographics’. Congress has termed Vijayvargiya’s statement as completely irresponsible and has demanded that he should apologize for this statement.

Vijayvargiya said in a program related to Raksha Bandhan in Indore on Sunday, ‘Social harmony is very important today. I was sitting with a retired army officer yesterday or the day before yesterday who is very active in social work. He said that after 30 years, civil war will start inside this country and after 30 years, such a situation may arise that you people will not be able to live, the way the demography is changing inside our country.’

He further said, ‘We have to think and reflect on this. We should work on how to strengthen the word Hindu.’ Vijayvargiya, who was the national general secretary of BJP, also said that some people want to divide the Hindu community on the basis of caste just to get power under the British policy of ‘divide and rule’.

State Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla said, ‘Vijayvargiya’s statement is completely irresponsible. This statement is creating an atmosphere of instability and fear in the country and raising questions on peace and brotherhood. He should publicly apologize for this.’ Shukla said that Vijayvargiya should clarify which retired army officer has expressed the fear of civil war starting in the country after 30 years and what is the basis of this fear?

The event in which Vijayvargiya made the controversial statement was organized by a social organization of the city. Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also participated in the event named ‘Samajik Samrasta Rakshabandhan Parv’ and got Rakhi tied by the women sanitation workers.
