An Agniveer Jawan has been arrested on the charge of looting 50 lakh rupees in cash and jewellery. Actually, the Agniveer Jawan entered a jewellery shop with a pistol and one of his companions. There he looted the shopkeeper at gunpoint. This entire incident was captured on CCTV. The police searched about 400 CCTV footages in 20 kilometres to catch the accused. Finally, the police arrested six accused involved in this robbery. This incident is from Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh.
A robbery was planned to pay off brother-in-law’s debt
According to the report of ‘India Today’, the accused Agniveer Jawan has been identified as Mohit Singh Baghel. He is posted in Pathankot, Punjab. He had come to Bhopal on leave to meet his sister and brother-in-law. Mohit’s brother-in-law had taken a house loan. To repay this loan, the Agniveer Jawan hatched a robbery plan. Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra said that after repaying the loan, he wanted to have fun with the remaining money.
Robbery in a jewellery shop with the help of a friend
To carry out the robbery, Mohit told his friend Akash Rai about the plan. Both of them entered a jewellery shop wearing helmets on August 13. The police officer said that Mohit and Akash had also done a recce of the shop a night before. They entered the shop with a pistol with full planning and pointed the gun at the shop owner. Both of them looted cash and jewellery there. The value of the looted goods was Rs 50 lakh.
Had to take help from army to catch him
After examining the CCTV footage, the police announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on the accused. Several police teams were formed to arrest the accused. The police also sought help from the Indian Army. Information related to Mohit was sought from the army. As soon as the input was received, all the accused were arrested. The looted cash and jewelry have been recovered from the accused. One of the six accused had given a pistol to the Agniveer Jawan. He has also been arrested by the police.
