Mamata Banerjee made a rate card for rape victims, she buys witnesses; lawyers got angry

The lawyer of the victim of the Kolkata rape case has raised questions on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He has said that the CM has fixed the rate card for rape victims in the state. Earlier, the victim’s parents have also accused the Trinamool Congress Supreme of ‘double standards’. Currently, after the police, the investigation of this case has been handed over to the CBI.

Speaking to news agency ANI, the victim’s lawyer Vikas Ranjan Bhattacharya has questioned the role of the state government. He said, ‘The role of the Chief Minister of West Bengal is very reprehensible. Whenever a rape happens, she immediately wants to talk to the victim’s family and gives them money and says that everything is over. Unfortunately, she has fixed a rate card for rape victims… She tries to buy witnesses.’

Governor said- West Bengal is not safe

On Monday, West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose declared the state unsafe for women. He said, ‘Bengal is not a safe place for women. Bengal has let women down. It is not the society but the current government that has let women down. Bengal should bring back its glory where women have a respected place in society.’

He said, ‘… now women are scared of goons. It is the government which has prepared this, which is not at all sensitive towards this matter.’ Regarding the victim’s mother, he said, ‘ I respect the feelings of the mother. The law will do its work.’

The victim’s father also surrounded

On Sunday, the victim’s father said, “The CM is talking at length, walking on the streets demanding justice for my daughter. At the same time, she is trying to assuage public anger. Why is she involved in these double standards? Is she scared of people? We have some questions that need answers.”

Earlier, the victim’s mother questioned the beneficiaries of schemes like Kanyashree and Lakshmi Bhandar. She had said, “Those people should think twice about their safety before taking benefits of such schemes.” She had said, “I demand the harshest punishment for those who are responsible. Only then will I consider financial assistance from the state government. Justice should come first and only after that will I accept any kind of financial help.”
