Kashi-Vishwanath Dham: To make movement to Kashi Vishwanath Dham easier, the new road-Dal Mandi Marg in Varanasi will be widened. The width of this road can be up to 14 meters. It will be used for VIP movement. On the initiative of regional MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, the district and temple administration are jointly preparing a proposal.
Devotees go to the Vishwanath temple for worship through Maidagin and Godaulia crossing. They also travel via Ganga, but that route is almost closed during the rains. This increases the pressure of devotees on both routes.
After the construction of Vishwanath Dham, the number of devotees in Baba Darbar has increased manifold. The number of VIP devotees has also increased. The movement of devotees and local people on both routes is affected due to VIP movement and on special occasions. The ban on vehicles on the nearly two and a half kilometer long route also affects the business of hundreds of shopkeepers on both sides. In view of this, a new option for movement to the Dham has been sought.
According to MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, the approximately 1100 meter long road going from the new road to Chowk via Dalmandi was once more than 10 feet wide. Four wheelers used to ply on it then. Currently, due to encroachment, even pedestrian movement has become difficult. Therefore, the administration has been asked to prepare a proposal to make the road as a corridor up to 14 meters wide. This will reduce the pressure of devotees on the Maidagin and Godaulia road. At the same time, the problems of the local shopkeepers will also be reduced.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has also decided to widen the street in front of Dashaswamedh police station. The consent of the local people is being taken in this regard. Apart from this, an internal survey has been done for the widening of the road from Saraswati Gate of Vishwanath Dham to Dashaswamedh Ghat.
