If the BJP had won 350 to 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, then we would have found it difficult to work in Bihar… The opposition will never be weak in a country like India, where more than 60 crore people earn less than Rs 100 per day. No advertisement or PR can influence them through Facebook, YouTube. They are not your bonded labourers.”
This time, the opposition capitalized on the slogan ‘400 plus’
When asked if BJP made a mistake by giving the slogan ‘Abki Baar, 400 Paar’, Prashant Kishor said that the slogan was good, but it was not fulfilled by BJP, but by the opposition. The opposition was successful in showing that BJP wants 400 seats to amend the Constitution and end caste-based reservation. All the credit for this goes to the opposition. Some big-mouthed leaders of BJP also said that the party will change the Constitution after winning 400 seats.
On the question of whether the use of words like mujra, mangalsutra by Narendra Modi during the election campaign could be a reason for this result, Prashant Kishore said: ‘Even the staunch supporters of BJP never expected such words from the Prime Minister, because such things were not expected considering the image that was created about Narendra Modi in the last 10 years. Instead of inspiring the workers, such things disappointed them. In some places, it also created panic.’
