Law made fun of again in Pakistan, suspect shot dead on suspicion of blasphemy – Hindustan News Hub

Quetta (Pakistan): Once again the law has been openly mocked in Pakistan. According to the information A policeman shot a young man dead at a police station in Quetta city of southwest Pakistan today. The policeman suspected him of blasphemy. So he shot and killed the accused. A local official gave this information. The deceased has been identified as Syed Khan.

Officials said that the police had rescued the man from the violent mob and took him with them. After that, the police arrested him. People claimed that the man had insulted Prophet Mohammad. According to police officer Mohammad Khurram, the officer involved in the firing has been arrested. Khurram did not give detailed information. Cases of death of suspects in police custody are not common in Pakistan. Whereas allegations of blasphemy based on mere rumors are common there and often riots erupt due to this.

In Pakistan, in such cases, the suspects are killed by the mob. In Khan’s case, local residents claimed that he had made derogatory remarks against the Prophet. After this, the mob surrounded him. After the arrest, the mob gathered outside the police station and started demanding the police to hand him over to them. But the police somehow rescued the youth from the people, but later shot him themselves. (Language)
