Himachal Pradesh’s Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh, referring to the UP government’s decision, said that he will also implement it with full vigor. He said that this has been done keeping in mind the concerns of the people. Talking to the media on Wednesday, Vikramaditya Singh said that yesterday there was a meeting of UD (Urban Development) and Municipal Corporation. This decision was taken in that. He said, ‘All the street vendors who are selling goods, especially those who are selling food items. Some are selling momos, some are selling noodles. We should take action on them in both ways, hygienic food should be sold.’
Vikramaditya further said, ‘Many concerns were expressed by the people. Understanding this, we have made it mandatory for street vendors in UP to have their name and ID. We have also decided to implement it with full vigor. Whoever is running a shop, street vendor will have to have an ID. So that if there is any problem in the future, action can be taken with transparency. ID cards will be made through the Street Wedging Committee. It will have all the information including their photo, registration number. This should be implemented especially on food stalls.’
