While the police was searching for the accused, he committed suicide by hanging himself in Odisha. The suicide note of the accused was also recovered by the police, in which he has given complete information about the reason for the murder. The accused has written in the suicide note that Mahalakshmi was torturing him, that is why he killed her. Bengaluru Police gave detailed information about this while talking to the media on Friday.
The accused also committed suicide
In fact, recently a strong smell started coming from a house in Malleshwaram area of ​​Bengaluru, after which the neighbors informed the mother and sister of Mahalakshmi, a woman living alone here. When both of them entered the house, they saw that Mahalakshmi’s body had been cut into several pieces and kept in the fridge. A new twist in this case came on Wednesday when the police reached close to the accused, but before that the accused committed suicide. The body of the accused was found hanging from a tree in Bhadrak district of Odisha.
Laptop and suicide note recovered
The Bengaluru Police team also found a note along with the body of accused Mukti Ranjan Roy, in which he had confessed to his crime. Besides, a laptop has also been found from him, which has photos of him and Mahalakshmi. According to Bengaluru Police, accused Mukti Ranjan Roy had come to Bengaluru 8-9 years ago and was a sales manager in a shop inside the mall. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand said while talking to the media on Friday that Mukti Ranjan Roy has confessed to the murder in the suicide note. The remaining information written in the suicide note is being verified. Apart from this, the statement of the younger brother of the accused has also been recorded. Since the murderer has committed suicide, an abated charge sheet will be filed in this case. Police are searching for the weapon used in the murder.

According to the police, accused Mukti Ranjan Roy had written in his suicide note, ‘I loved Mahalakshmi very much, but she was not behaving well with me at all. Mahalakshmi was trying to implicate me in the kidnapping case. I spent a lot of money on him, but he didn’t respect me, so I killed him.’ Police investigation so far has revealed that Mahalakshmi was pressurizing Mukti to marry. Whereas Mukti Ranjan was not ready for marriage. Mukti Ranjan’s family was also looking for a girl for him in Odisha.
Scuffle broke out between Mahalakshmi and Mukti Ranjan
A few days before this sensational murder incident, Mahalakshmi and Mukti Ranjan had gone to Kerala for a visit, where a fight broke out between them. During this time Mahalakshmi laid her hands on Mukti Ranjan. There was a scuffle between the two, after which Mahalakshmi, who came to Bengaluru, filed a kidnapping case against Mukti Ranjan with the police. Mukti Ranjan got angry with this. According to sources, on September 3, Mukti Ranjan went to Mahalakshmi’s house to meet her. There was a fight between the two again. Accused Mukti Ranjan Roy strangled Mahalakshmi to death. After this, in panic, he cut Mahalakshmi’s body into several pieces, kept it in the fridge and ran away from there.
The younger brother of the accused was also interrogated
Bengaluru Police has also recorded the statement of the younger brother of the accused. According to police sources, based on the conversation with Mukti Ranjan, the younger brother of the accused said that his brother was depressed after murdering Mahalakshmi in panic. For this reason he also committed suicide. The Bengaluru Police team present in Odisha is returning with the postmortem report, after which the case details will be submitted to the court.
