When Rajesh became a debtor
When Rajesh Kumar decided to become a farmer, he had to go through difficult times. The actor said that he tried to seek help from many friends, some helped him as clients, but others did not respond and ignored his calls. Talking to Siddharth Kannan, he said, ‘After becoming a farmer, I had a loan of more than Rs 1.5 crore. My friends and family spent an entire year on this journey, which was the hardest phase of my life. I was accountable to the people who had lent me money, which included my family, the farmers and my wife.’
Rejection in Shark Tank but invitation for the film
Rajesh also told that his startup failed, so he had to sell vegetables to earn money. She remembers setting up a vegetable stall outside her son’s school, where her son would ask his teachers to buy vegetables. The actor then revealed that he had tried out for Shark Tank India, but he did not get success there either. He said, ‘I had applied for Shark Tank India. I had passed two out of three rounds. Rajesh told that just before leaving for Shark Tank, he got a call from the team of ‘Haddi’, saying that the director and casting team wanted to meet him. At that time he was feeling nervous and less confident. He said, ‘Just before I left for Shark Tank India, I got a call from Haddi and they wanted to meet me. My confidence was so shaken that when I went to meet the casting director in his office, he told me that the director would meet me. I thought he would audition me, then he said the production guys would discuss the money, I thought ok I would audition after that. Then he said, ‘Sir you have been confirmed.’ He further said, ‘I thought but what about my audition? They said we just want you with us. The only request the director had was if I could shave my head. I said I can do that if you give me an extra lakh and he did.
