India defeated Bangladesh convincingly in the second match of the two-match Test series. Due to rain and wet out field, at one time it seemed that the match would end in a draw. But the Indian captain and team management had prepared a plan to win. BCCI shared Rohit Sharma’s video on social media on Wednesday, in which he told the story behind the victory against Bangladesh. Rohit has said that according to him aggression means action, not reaction. He told that the plan was to bowl out Bangladesh as soon as possible on the fourth day of the match.
Rohit told BCCI.TV, “For me aggression means your action, not reaction, the way we bowl, field or bat, that is aggression for me. This would not have been possible without the help of 10 players and obviously the people present in the dressing room. When you lose two and a half days, it is very easy for everyone to lose sight of our goal of winning this Test. We came here on the fourth day, we needed seven wickets to bowl them out. Everything started there. The bowlers started. He took the wickets we needed.
Rohit further said, “We had to take risks to achieve results. I knew that the result could go either way but I, the coach and other players were also ready for it. You have to be courageous enough to make those decisions and play that way. When things are in the right place, everything seems good and that is where when things are not in the right place, it can change very quickly. Everyone would start criticizing the decision we took and all that. But what matters is what we think inside this changing room and that’s what matters.”
