Rajat Sharma participated in Global Ethics Day program

These things were said by Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor in Chief of India TV, in the Global Ethics Day program organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He was speaking as the chief guest in this program. He further said that because of studying in Shri Ram College of Commerce, I have close relations with many CAs. I think that behind all the big and successful businessmen in this country is the hard work of a CA. At present there are more than 4 lakh CAs in the country, out of which every third CA is a woman. It is a matter of pride for us. While addressing the CAs at ICAI, Rajat ji said that you know best the ethics in your profession. I know my profession. But today AI (Artificial Intelligence) has become the biggest challenge for ethics.
In present times AI poses a big challenge
Rajat ji warned about the benefits of AI (Artificial Intelligence) as well as its dangers. Giving an example, he said that today fraud has increased rapidly through AI. AI is being used for digital arrest and recovery from people. Let us tell you that digital arrest is a type of cyber crime in which the victim is made to believe that he was involved in money laundering, drug smuggling etc. and he is under investigation. If he doesn’t want to go to jail then pay a huge amount. Many people are falling victim to this fraud out of fear.
‘AI made a fake video of me with Amitabh Bachchan’
Rajat ji told that only yesterday someone sent me a video in which it seemed as if Amitabh Bachchan and I were selling a painkiller pill, whereas it was an interview from 10 years ago. All this wrong work is being done with the help of AI. He further told that one day he met Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. He said, ‘You have no shortage of money! There is no dearth of name and fame! Then why are you selling sugar syrup? I told him that it was a fake video, but it is not easy for people of this age to understand. In the era of social media, it has become very difficult to stop the spread of misinformation. Dr. Naresh Trehan told me about one such fake video, even though we have not met for 3 years.
My family also believed in the fake video
Rajat ji further told that my sister-in-law lives in Mumbai. He asked me about investment. I said how can I give opinion on investment when I am not an expert in this sector. He couldn’t believe it. He showed me a video about an investment. And she said now tell me? Then I told them that this is a fake video. There are countless such stories. The lifetime earnings of lakhs of people are being looted in a few minutes through AI and the police is not able to do anything.
India TV is running a campaign to spread awareness
I and India TV have launched a campaign to make people aware about fake videos and digital arrest. I think no police can do this work, but you CA people can do this work. Fraudsters take people’s money from one account and immediately transfer it from there to another account. You can catch him. Only CA can suggest effective solutions for this type of crime. Together you and I can stop this type of fraud.
