A new statue of the Goddess of Justice appeared.
Often you must have seen the statue of the Goddess of Justice with a blindfold in the courts, films and chambers of lawmakers of the country. But now the eyes of the goddess of justice of the new India have been opened. So much so that the Constitution has come into his hands instead of the sword. In fact, the British laws have been changed some time ago and now the Indian judiciary has also started adopting a new look, leaving the British era behind.

Not only has the symbol of the Supreme Court changed, but the blindfold that blinded the goddess of justice for years has also been removed. Obviously the Supreme Court has given a message to the country that the law is no longer blind. Let us tell you that all these efforts have been done by CJI DY Chandrachud of the Supreme Court. A similar statue has been installed in the judges’ library in the Supreme Court.

On the instructions of CJI Chandrachud, the statue of the Goddess of Justice was rebuilt. First of all, a large statue has been installed in the Judges’ Library. In the earlier statue of the Goddess of Justice, both her eyes were blindfolded. In the new idol, the eyes of the Goddess of Justice are open and there is no bandage. Also, there was a scale in one hand while in the other there was a sword symbolizing punishment. However, now the sword in the hands of the statue of the Goddess of Justice has been replaced by the Constitution. The scales in the other hand of the idol are the same as the first.

Why was the statue changed?
According to sources, CJI Chandrachud believed that now we have to move ahead from the English heritage. Law is never blind, it sees everyone equally. Therefore the form of the goddess of justice should be changed. Also, the Goddess should not have a sword in one hand but the Constitution so that the message goes to the society that she administers justice as per the Constitution. The scales on the other hand are correct that in their eyes everything is equal.
