Team India announced for the series against New Zealand, this player was made the captain – Hindustan News Hub

On one hand, the Indian men’s team is busy playing the Test series against New Zealand. On the other hand, the Indian women’s team will start the ODI series against New Zealand from October 24. The Indian women’s team has been announced for this ODI series. This will be Team India’s first bilateral series after being eliminated in the first round of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. 4 new faces have been given a chance for this series. Tejal Hassabnis, Priya Mishra, Saima Thakur and Sayali Satgare have been included in the Indian team for the first time. Apart from these, there are 6 players who will play ODI match for the first time.

Richa Ghosh, Pooja Vastrakar and Asha Shobhana, who played in the T20 World Cup, have not got a place in the team for this series. Richa Ghosh was not available for selection due to her 12th class board exams. Meanwhile, Asha Shobhana is currently suffering from injury and was not available for selection. Pooja Vastrakar has been rested from the series. Smriti Mandhana, who had a disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup, has been made the vice-captain. Uma Chhetri, who has played four T20 International matches, is also a part of the team and can make her ODI debut in this series.

India’s team for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand: Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (Vice-Captain), Shafali Verma, Dayalan Hemlata, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (WK), Uma Chhetri (WK), Sayali Satgare, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Tejal Hasbnis, Saima Thakur, Priya Mishra, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil.

The 3-match ODI series between India and New Zealand will be played from October 24 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After this, the second match will be played on 27th October while the third and last match of the series will be played on 29th October. All three matches of the series will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad only.
