Since 2017, no bowler had taken 7 wickets in an innings of a Test match against New Zealand. A Ashwin took 7 wickets for 59 runs in the test match played in Indore in 2017.

Spin bowlers dominated on the first day
The complete dominance of the spin bowlers was seen on the first day of the second Test match being played against New Zealand. During this period, all 10 wickets of New Zealand were taken by the spinners. In which the names of R Ashwin and Washington Sundar were included. Team India all out New Zealand for 259 runs on the first day. Sundar took 7 wickets and R Ashwin took seven wickets in this match. Team India has also lost one wicket.
