India’s T20 cricket league i.e. IPL is the most famous cricket league in the world. Every cricketer in the world dreams of playing in IPL but only a few people can achieve it. The desire to play in IPL is so strong among the players that even after retirement, they want to be a part of the league. Actually, on November 5, BCCI made a big announcement regarding the mega auction of IPL 2025. It was told that before the 18th season, the mega auction of IPL 2025 will be organized in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24 and 25 November. This is the second consecutive year that the IPL auction will be held abroad. The last auction before IPL 2024 was held in the UAE city of Dubai.

A total of 1574 cricketers, including 1165 Indian players, have registered their names for the IPL mega auction. These include 320 capped and 1224 uncapped players and 30 players from associate countries. From these figures it can be estimated how much craze there is for IPL across the world. The most surprising thing is that a legendary bowler has also given his name for this auction, who is 42 years old and has said goodbye to international cricket. The player we are talking about has taken 991 wickets in international cricket. By now you must have understood what we are talking about. Yes, the name of this player is James Anderson who has registered his name for the IPL auction.

Last T20I was played 15 years ago

Anderson, who took more than 700 wickets in Test cricket, said goodbye to cricket in July this year. Just a few days after announcing his retirement, Anderson had expressed his desire to play in T20 cricket. He had said that he still wants to play cricket and is thinking of trying his hand in T20 cricket. He had said that he wants to enjoy franchise cricket. Then no one thought that he could be seen in the mega auction of IPL.

It is noteworthy that James Anderson has kept his base price for the mega auction at Rs 1.25 crore. Anderson played his last T20I match for England 15 years ago in 2009, while his last appearance in T20 cricket was in 2014. Now it will be interesting to see which team goes to buy him in the IPL auction.
