India vs South Africa 2nd T20: South Africa defeated the Indian team by 5 wickets in the rain-affected second T20 match. In this match, African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the Indian team scored 180 runs for seven wickets in 19.3 overs. Rain disrupted the last over of the Indian innings and the team’s innings ended there. South Africa got the target of 152 runs in 15 overs to win using Duckworth-Lewis rule. The African team achieved this target easily. Reeza Hendricks performed amazingly for Africa.
Reeza Hendrix did amazing
The openers gave a great start to South Africa. There was a partnership of 41 runs for the first wicket between Reeza Hendricks and Matthew Bretzke. Mathew scored 16 runs. After this Aiden Markram scored 30 runs in 17 balls, which included four fours and a six. Hendricks could not complete his half-century and was out after scoring 49 runs, but it was he who laid the foundation of victory for South Africa. David Miller contributed 17 runs. Andile Phehlukwayo led the team to victory by hitting a six. He scored 10 runs in 4 balls for the team. Tristan Stubbs scored 14 runs. No bowler could leave any impact for India. Mukesh Kumar definitely took 2 wickets for the team. But he proved to be very expensive. He gave away 34 runs in 3 overs. Apart from this, Mohammad Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav took 1-1 wicket.
India had a bad start
The Indian team had a very bad start. When both the opening batsmen of Team India returned to the pavilion without opening their account. But after this Tilak Verma and captain Suryakumar Yadav batted brilliantly. Tilak was out after scoring 29 runs. After this, there was a partnership of 70 runs in 48 balls for the fourth wicket between Surya and Rinku Singh. It was only because of these two players that the team was able to reach a respectable score.
Rinku-Surya scored half-centuries
Suryakumar laid the foundation of a big score with his explosive batting. Suryakumar hit five fours and three sixes in his 36-ball innings and scored 56 runs. Rinku hit nine fours and two sixes in her unbeaten innings of 68 runs in 39 balls. This is his first half-century in T20 International matches. Ravindra Jadeja scored 19 runs in the last overs by hitting one four and one six in 14 balls. But when Team India scored 180 runs at the loss of 7 wickets after 19.3 overs. Then the rain came and the Indian innings did not come again. After this, the umpires reduced the match to 15-15 overs and South Africa got a target of 152 runs to chase. Gerald Coetzee took the maximum of 3 wickets for South Africa.
Scored a half century for the first time in his career
Rinku Singh made his debut for India in the year 2023 against Ireland. Since then he has scored 248 runs in 11 matches for India. But he has scored a half-century for the first time in his T20 International career. Even though Team India has lost against South Africa, they will always remember this innings. Rinku performed well for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023. For this reason he got a chance in Team India.
