According to the report of Economic Times, this survey was done in 12 cities of India regarding awareness about brain stroke. Only 22 percent of the people involved were aware of the risk and symptoms of brain stroke, while 78 percent were not aware of it. Even more surprising is that only 10 percent of people knew about the treatment of brain stroke. In this case 90 percent people were not aware. These figures are quite worrying. In this survey 4742 samples were collected from 12 cities. Based on this, the conclusion was drawn.

The survey also found that people from smaller cities and economically weaker sections of India are least aware of brain stroke. In Chandigarh, Lucknow and Pune, about 30 percent people were aware of the word brain stroke. In the 2019 Lancet Global Health report, it was also found that cases of stroke are seen in women more than men. According to the medical director of the organization that conducted this survey, the incidence of brain stroke is increasing continuously in India. There is an urgent need to spread awareness about this. The surveying organization also works for awareness.
