During the trailer launch event of Drishyam 2 in Goa, Ajay Devgn while answering a question from Hindustan Times said, “A lot of characters have been added and a lot of changes have been made. You might not have seen the characters of Akshay and Gaitonde (Kamlesh Sawant) in the Malayalam version. So there is a lot of new stuff, but as Abhishek said the soul of the film has been retained. So I think when you watch the film, it will be very fresh for you.’

It took 7 months to write the story
Director Abhishek Pathak said that he actually spent several months developing the script, which included many things that were not part of the Malayalam and Telugu versions. “When we started writing the film, it was not like we started shooting immediately. It took us 7 months to write the film. So there are a lot of changes, which make it different from the Malayalam and Telugu versions.

In the film, Ajay Devgn plays the character of Vijay Salgaonkar, who is living happily with his family. There is an earthquake in her life when a boy who molested her is murdered at the hands of her daughter. To hide this secret, the whole family weaves a story together. Malayalam and Telugu versions of ‘Drishyam 2’ on OTT
Talking about the Malayalam version of ‘Drishyam 2’, Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil played important roles in it. This movie was released in February 2021. It was a sequel to the 2013 movie, which was directed by Jeetu Joseph. The film was released on the digital platform due to the Corona epidemic. After the success of the Malayalam version, Jeetu Joseph also made a Telugu remake of it, in which Venkatesh. Meena, Nadhiya, Naresh and Kruthika were in lead roles. This film came on Amazon Prime Video in November 2021.
