Mumbai. Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray party alleged that voters are being given money to press the NOTA button in the by-election to be held on November 3 in Mumbai’s Andheri East assembly seat. It is to be known that the campaigning for the by-election has ended at 5 pm. Senior party leader Anil Parab said that the party has raised the issue with the Election Commission as well as the police.
Anil Parab said that this election will also have an impact in the coming BMC elections as it will show the combined strength of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies for the first time. The MVA comprises the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress.
Former Maharashtra minister alleges
The former Maharashtra minister alleged that some people are being given money to press the NOTA button. He also said that his party has videos showing alleged activists of the Republican Party of India (RPI) indulging in such acts. The RPI (Athawale faction) is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

know that Uddhav Thackeray The Shiv Sena faction led by the BJP has fielded Rituja Latte. She is the wife of Ramesh Latke, a Shiv Sena MLA from this seat. Due to the death of Ramesh Latke, the by-election has to be held. The BJP had given ticket to Murji Patel, but later the party decided not to contest and withdrew Patel’s candidature.
Parab said, “On one hand, the BJP withdrew its candidate saying that it respects the tradition of not fielding candidates against the family members of the deceased public representatives. On the other hand, people are being asked to vote in NOTA. She expressed confidence that Latte would get 98-99 per cent of the votes and said that she would complete the tasks which were left unfinished due to the death of her husband.
