Jaipur/Delhi. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has reached Delhi on Wednesday to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Amidst the political tussle in the state and the suspense over the filing of nomination for the post of party president, all eyes are on his visit. On the other hand, in a conversation with reporters at Delhi airport regarding the Rajasthan crisis, he said that ‘all these are things of the house, we will all solve it together’.

On the other hand, the advisor to Congress President KC Venugopal has said about the current political crisis in Rajasthan that everything will be cleared in a day or two. Venugopal while talking to news agency ANI said, ‘There is no drama going on in Rajasthan. Everything will become clear in a day or two. The media may see it as a drama, but you are talking about the election of Congress President here. We are doing it in a very democratic way, it will be over easily in two days.

Before Gehlot’s visit to Delhi, some ministers and MLAs had reached the Chief Minister’s residence to meet him. Cabinet minister in Rajasthan government Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Speaker of the Assembly C.P. Joshi, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara, Ministers Shanti Dhariwal and Mahesh Joshi also met the Chief Minister.

Khachariyawas told reporters after meeting the Chief Minister, “The Chief Minister is going to Delhi today to express the sentiments of the 102 MLAs, as a guardian, as a leader and as an organization. The chief minister is not resigning yet. He said whether Gehlot would file nomination for the post of party president, it would be clear only after a meeting with the high command.

In fact, Ashok Gehlot had earlier said that he would file nomination for the post of Congress President. However, due to the latest political developments in the state, his claim appeared to be tarnished. Legislators supporting Gehlot have objected to the change of Chief Minister in the state.

Gehlot’s visit to Delhi comes a day after the Congress issued “show cause notices” to three of his loyal ministers Shanti Dhariwal and Mahesh Joshi, and Dharmendra Rathod for their “serious indiscipline”.

The Congress’ disciplinary committee on Tuesday night issued ‘show cause notices’ to ministers Shanti Dhariwal and Mahesh Joshi and party leader Dharmendra Rathod for their “gross indiscipline” and asked them to state within 10 days that action would be taken against them. Why not (with language input)
