Mumbai: Well-known actor Pankaj Tripathi will act in the biopic of former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Pankaj said in a statement, “It is an honor for me to portray such a humane politician on screen. He was not just a politician, but more than that, he was an excellent writer and a renowned poet. According to a statement released by the makers, the film will be directed by three-time National Award winner Ravi Jadhav, one of the renowned directors of the Marathi film industry and written by Utkarsh Naithani. ‘Whether I live or not, this country should remain – Atal’ revolves around the journey of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, one of the leaders and co-founders of India and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

National Award winning director Ravi Jadhav said, “For me as a director, I could not have asked for any better story than Atalji. On top of this, the makers support Atalji’s story and bring to the screen an exemplary actor like Pankaj Tripathi. I hope I can live up to people’s expectations with Atal.”
