Bank Holidays: Plenty of holidays in the remaining days of October, there should be no shortage of money on Diwali-Dhanteras, settle the work today


Festivals like Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Chhath are yet to come in October.

New Delhi. More than half the days of the month of October have passed. Banks remained closed for several days in the first half of the month due to the festive season. This included half-yearly closing on October 1, Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 and Vijayadashami on October 5. Apart from this, many regional festivals also came in the meantime when banks remained closed in various states. Also the second Saturday and 2nd Sunday were weekly holidays.

Now banks will remain closed for many days in the remaining days as well. This includes weekly holidays and regional festivals in different states etc. Also, festivals like Diwali and Kali Puja will be a holiday in most of the states. So if you are looking to settle any bank related work, then first see the list of holidays here and then according to that, leave for the bank. Now there will be a total of 9 days bank holiday in October. As we mentioned, regional festivals are also included in this. Out of these, banks will remain closed across the country (with one exception) for only 4 days.

  • 18 October – Kati Bihu (Holiday in Guwahati)
  • 22 October – Fourth Saturday
  • 23 October – Sunday
  • 24 October – Kali Puja/Diwali/Narak Chaturdashi) (holiday all over the country except Gangtok, Hyderabad and Imphal)
  • 25 October – Lakshmi Puja/Diwali/Govardhan Puja (holiday in Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal and Jaipur)
  • 26 October – Govardhan Puja/Vikram Samvat New Year Day/Bhai Dooj/Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Lakshmi Puja/Entrance Day (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gagtak, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shimla, Srinagar I will be on holiday)
  • 27 October – Bhai Dooj / Chitragupta Jayanti / Laxmi Puja / Deepawali / Ningol Chakkuba (holiday in Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow)
  • 30 October – Sunday
  • 31 October – Birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel / Surya Shashthi Dala Chhath (morning arghya) / Chhath Puja (Holiday in Ahmedabad, Jharkhand and Bihar)
