‘Kantara’ caught in controversies amid bumper earnings, makers accused of stealing this song

Ever since the Kannada film ‘Kantara’ was released, only talk about it is happening. There is constant discussion everywhere about the film. There is everything in the film, seeing which people are finding it full entertainment. The film is earning tremendously at the box office as well. Meanwhile, there is a ruckus about one of its songs. The Kerala-based band Thakkudam Bridge has leveled plagiarism charges against the hit Kannada film ‘Kantara’. The band said, the makers of Kantara have accused one of its songs ‘Navarasam’ of plagiarism for the film.

‘Navarasam’ is a copy of ‘Roopam’?

In their Instagram post, the band claimed that the song Varaha Roopam is a copy of their song Navarasam. “We would like to inform our listeners that Thekkudam Bridge is not affiliated with Kantara in any way or form,” the statement said. The similarities between our IP ‘Navarasam’ and ‘Varaha Roopam’ in terms of audio is a clear infringement of copyright.’


Will file a case against the creative team
It further added, “From our point of view the line between ‘inspired’ and ‘plagiarism’ is different and hence, we will seek legal action against the creative team responsible for this.” There is no acknowledgment of our rights on the content and songs. The creative team of the film is showing it as the original content.
