Like in the past, the forces troubled by the rise of India are present even today: PM Modi
Ahmedabad: Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three-day visit to Gujarat. He has reached the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya on the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Here he paid floral tributes to the grand statue of India’s first Home Minister Sardar Patel and bowed down to him by offering water. The Prime Minister then attended the National Unity Day Parade program at Kevadia Parade Ground. Police force personnel of various states took out a parade on the occasion of National Unity Day, which was inspected by PM Modi. He administered the oath to the trainee police officers to maintain national unity and integrity in ‘Aarabh 2022’.
The Prime Minister began his address by paying tributes to those who lost their lives in the Morbi Bridge accident. He said- I am in Ekta Nagar, my mind is connected with the victims of Morbi. I have rarely experienced such pain in my life. On one side is the suffering heart full of compassion and on the other is the path of duty. I express my condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. I assure the countrymen that everything possible will be provided to the Morbi accident victims. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel reached Morbi last night. He has been commanding the relief and rescue operations since yesterday. The state government has constituted a committee to investigate the incident. There will be no laxity in relief and rescue operations.
Like in the past, the forces troubled by the rise of India are present even today: PM Modi
PM Modi said, I see National Unity Day in 2022 as a very special occasion. This is the year when we have completed 75 years of independence. We are moving forward with new resolutions. What would have happened if India did not have a leadership like Sardar Patel? What would have happened if more than 550 princely states had not been united? If most of our kings did not show the culmination of renunciation, then we would not have been able to imagine the India we are seeing today. Sardar Patel has proved these works only. Like in the past, the forces that are troubled by the rise of India are present even today. Various narratives are created to make us fight the names of castes. History is also presented in such a way that countries are not connected and become distant. Many times this power gets embedded in us in the form of slavery mentality. Sometimes it knocks on the door in the form of appeasement, sometimes in the form of familyism, sometimes in the form of greed and corruption. Which divides and weakens the country.

Morbi Bridge: Waghji Thakor had built it with the best technology of Europe, then it was 3.5 lakhs
Significantly, since the construction of the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in 2018, PM Modi has brought the celebration of National Unity Day on par with events like Independence Day and Republic Day. National Unity Day is celebrated every year on 31 October on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It has also been a custom to organize a ‘Run for Unity’ (a marathon event) on this day. After this program, the Prime Minister will stay at Thared in Banaskantha from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Here he will lay the foundation stone of various development projects.
