New Rahul Gandhi and new Congress have emerged during “Bharat Jodo Yatra”: Jairam Ramesh

dlupet. Congress general secretary and communications in-charge Jairam Ramesh on Friday said the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has forced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to back down and create panic among them, as it would lead to a “terrorist move”. A new Rahul Gandhi and a new Congress party has emerged.

The Karnataka leg of the Congress’s ambitious ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ began here on Friday and the Rahul Gandhi-led yatra entered Karnataka from Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district, bordering Kerala. Ramesh said, “People ask who is breaking India, which Congress had to travel between India and India. Our answer is that (Narendra) Modi’s ideology, policies, personality is breaking India, because economic inequality is increasing, social polarization is increasing and political hyper-centralisation is increasing, so Congress is doing this journey. ‘

He told reporters here that the yatra was like a sanjeevani for the Congress and it was strengthening the organization and it has made the BJP “distressed and very upset”. The retreat has strengthened and created panic in him, because a new Rahul Gandhi and a new Congress party have emerged from this Bharat Jodi Yatra.

On the occasion of Dussehra, October 4 and 5 will be the rest days of the Yatra in Karnataka. Ramesh said that Rahul Gandhi and other yatris will interact daily with different groups of the society. He said that Gandhi today met people from the tribal community and families who lost their earning members due to lack of oxygen at the Chamarajanagar hospital during the peak of COVID-19.
