Strong story, tremendous acting, yet these 6 films could not even recover the cost at the box-office

New Delhi- To make any Bollywood film successful these days, along with having a good star cast in the film, a strong story is also needed. But a few years back, films used to go on in Bollywood only in the name of big actors. While on one hand, in the presence of big stars, films with weak story lines also used to earn crores at the box-office. So on the other hand, there are some films which despite having a strong story and tremendous acting, could not even recover their cost.

Critics appreciated these films a lot but they could not succeed in pulling the audience to the theatre. So let us tell you today about 7 such underrated Bollywood films which may have been flop at the box-office but their story is better than big Hollywood films.

Trapped-
Vikramaditya Motwani and Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Trapped’, which came in 2016, won many Critics Awards. Rajkumar Rao’s acting in this film can give goosebumps. Despite strong acting and script, this film was a flop at the box-office. This film was able to register a total collection of only 2 crore 85 lakhs.

Parts of every story: successful
Based on the life of a retiring supporting actor, Sanjay Mishra was seen in the lead role in this film. His performance in this film had won the hearts of the critics, but the audience did not like the film much. Released in 2018, the film was badly beaten at the box-office.

The Death in the Gunj
Despite having talented actors like Vikrant Massey and Kalki Koechlin in this film directed by Konkona Sen Sharma, this film was beaten. This film had made the critics happy, but this film could not even cross the figure of 2 crores at the box-office.

Aligarh-
The wonderful performance of Rajkumar Rao and Manoj Bajpayee was seen in the 2016 film ‘Aligarh’. Despite having a great story line and great acting, this film could not even recover its cost. With a budget of Rs 11 crore, this film did a business of only Rs 4.27 crore.

Sonchiriya-
This film, which came in 2019, was based on a group of dacoits. All the actors of this film had given their lives in the film, yet this film was badly beaten. Made at a cost of Rs 22 crore, the film was able to register a collection of only Rs 10 crore.

Caravan
This film by Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar and Dulquer Salmaan depicts adult life in the best way. Anyone’s heart can be happy after watching this film. But this film could not bring the audience to the theatre. Made at a cost of Rs 23 crore, this film was able to do business of only Rs 26 crore 40 lakh.

country
The acting of Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu in Anubhav Sinha’s legal drama film ‘Mulk’ was worth watching. Both these actors had blown everyone’s senses with their acting. But this film fell on its face in terms of earning. However, the film won the Best Story and Best Film Critics Award.
