Darbhanga. Information and Public Relations cum Water Resources Minister of Bihar Government, Sanjay Jha gave big news about Darbhanga Airport in a conversation with News-18. The people of Darbhanga were waiting for this for a long time. Let us tell you that the demand for 78 acres of land for Darbhanga airport was being made continuously by the central government. So that the new terminal building with runway extension and night landing facility can be arranged at Darbhanga airport.

Minister Sanjay Jha informed that Darbhanga Airport will soon get the land and said that the process of acquisition of 24 acres of land sought by the airport authority from the state government for expansion of runway and night landing facility at Darbhanga airport has been completed. The District Land Acquisition Officer, Darbhanga has started the necessary legal process to transfer this land to the Airport Authority.

With the provision of Night Landing Facility (Provision of CAT-1 lighting system) at Darbhanga Airport, the movement of aircraft will be possible even at night. This will facilitate in increasing the number of flights and starting flight services to new cities. Also, due to the expansion of the runway, landing of big planes will also be done here. On the other hand, due to the installation of CAT-1 lighting system, smooth movement of aircraft will be possible even during foggy and poor light. With this, the big problem of passengers traveling from Darbhanga airport will be removed.

The process of acquisition of 54 acres of land sought from the state government by the Airport Authority for the construction of civil enclave at Darbhanga airport is also going on on priority basis. Efforts are being made that the process of acquisition of 54 acres of land should also be completed by February 2023. Minister Sanjay Jha has given this information through social media.

He wrote that on the instructions of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he had met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on October 3 in Delhi. And urged him that the tender process and other necessary preparations should be started soon for the establishment of new facilities including Night Landing Facility and Civil Enclave at Darbhanga Airport. So that there is no delay in the construction work after the transfer of the land acquired by the state government.
