Why did Deepika Padukone keep quiet on the ‘saffron bikini’ controversy? Siddharth Anand made a big disclosure, said – was not scared…

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathan’, which released last month, has been one of the biggest films of the year, which earned a lot at the box office. Apart from Shah Rukh, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana were also in important roles in this film. But, apart from the film’s action scenes, songs and Deepika Padukone’s tremendous style, there was a lot of discussion about another thing, that was the ‘Bhagwa Bikini’ of the actress.

Deepika wore this bikini in ‘Besharam Rang’, for which she was surrounded by trolls. Many parties also objected to the color of the bikini of the actress. But, the entire team including the cast of the film kept silence on this controversy. However, now director Siddharth Anand has spoken openly on this controversy for the first time.

Siddharth Anand recently spoke openly on the saffron bikini controversy. The director told why she chose a saffron colored bikini for the song and why it was better to remain silent on the whole controversy. Siddharth Anand told that ‘there was nothing in the film and Besharam Rang, which would have created any kind of controversy going forward. That’s why he or any member of his team had no fear.

Siddharth Anand spoke openly on the whole controversy and said- ‘We were not scared about anything, because we knew very well that there was nothing objectionable in it.’ Not only this, the director also reacted to ‘Pathan Boycott’ and termed it as just a ‘kori rumour’. This is the first time after the release of Pathan that Siddharth Anand has reacted to the controversy surrounding the blockbuster film.

How was the ‘saffron bikini’ chosen for Deepika Padukone?
The director further says- ‘We were in Spain, that’s why I randomly chose that costume. We never gave it much thought because the color looked good. The saffron color looked great amidst the sunlight, green grass and blue water. We thought in our mind that when the audience sees it, they will like it. Our intention was not wrong nor did we want to hurt anyone’s sentiments and the success of the film gives proof of this.
