Will ‘Pathan’ beat ‘Dangal’ at the box office? Worldwide collection crossed 700 crores in 9 days
Pathan WorldWide Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Pathan’ continues to have a dream run at the box office. The film has earned more than 700 crores in 9 days of its release. At present, there are no signs of decline in the film’s earnings.
Pathan reached beyond 700 crores
According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, on the ninth day of release, ‘Pathan’ crossed the Rs 700 crore mark at the worldwide box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film managed to collect Rs 15 crore to Rs 16 crore on its second Thursday. The film achieved a spectacular opening at the domestic box office on Wednesday with Rs 57 crore. The film was a mid-week release, managed to cross the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide in an extended weekend of five days. This made it the highest opening weekend grosser in the history of Hindi cinema.
Will Pathan beat Dangal at the box office?
Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathan’ is yet to cross the domestic collections of ‘KGF 2’ and ‘Baahubali 2’, but only when it comes to the Hindi dubbed versions of these films. ‘Pathan’ is on the verge of breaking the record of Aamir’s ‘Dangal’ which currently stands at Rs 387.38 crore (net). ‘Pathan’ is the fourth film in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe after ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘War’.
The fun will continue this weekend as well
Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer, ‘Pathan’ is running successfully in the theaters and with no big releases this weekend, the film will probably continue to rule the box office. Earlier, Kartik Aaryan-starrer Shehzada was scheduled to release on February 10, but the film will now release on February 17.
There is a demand for Hrithik’s cameo.
Salman Khan did a cameo in ‘Pathan’ as his character Tiger. Fans expected that Hrithik would surprise them too but it did not happen. Siddharth explained to Pinkvilla, “We could have brought Hrithik or any other actor on board, but Salman Khan and Shah Rukh have not been seen doing action in a film before. I think the last time they did action together was in 1996 with Karan Arjun. Luckily, Adi had Tiger’s IP to do this crossover and the result is spectacular.
Let us tell you that ‘Pathan’ made a big comeback in acting roles of Shahrukh after a gap of four years. The actor was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ in 2018. This year, SRK will also be seen in Atlee’s Jawan alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi and Rajkumar Hirani’s Danki alongside Taapsee Pannu.
