64 percent of those who become IAS, IPS and IFS are engineers, the data revealed from the results of Civil Services

For the past many years, the students of science stream have continued to dominate the most prestigious civil services examination of the country. The students of science stream have not only been successful in capturing the top ranked services like IAS, IPS and IFS, but the number of science students has also been high among the toppers.

Recently, while answering a question of BJP MP Sushil Modi in Parliament, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that between 2017 and 2021, more than 63.6 percent of the candidates who were successful in the Indian Civil Services Examination are engineers. To succeed in the Civil Services Examination, these candidates left the traditional humanities subjects like Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration and believed in their core subjects and achieved success."text-align: justify;">Women also ahead

At the same time, women have also written a new story of success in the Civil Services Examination. Between 2017 and 2021, the number of successful women has increased from 24 percent to 28 percent. Meanwhile, a total of 4371 candidates appeared for the examination. Of these, more than 76 percent were from the science stream. Only 23.6 percent took humanities subjects. However, humanities subjects were more preferred as optional subjects. More than 650 successful candidates chose Political Science and International Relations as optional subjects, while 577 chose Sociology and 514 chose Geography as optional subjects. Let us tell you that every year lakhs of candidates prepare for the Civil Services Exam and appear in the exam.
