After passing the SSC CGL exam, on which posts do you get jobs, why is there so much craze for this exam?

SSC CGL 2024 Posts and Salary: Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate Level Examination 2024 will be conducted between 9th and 26th September this year. The exam has started and Tier 1 is being conducted right now. In this, the selected candidates will appear for the next stage examination. According to media reports, lakhs of candidates participate in this exam every year, they also wait eagerly for its notification.

Today we know for which posts the candidates are selected after passing this exam, how much salary they get and what else is there in these jobs that attracts young aspirants.

Work is available on these posts

Know that after passing all the stages, candidates are appointed to two types of posts. These posts are of Group B and Group C. Some posts of Group B are gazetted and some are non-gazetted. Whereas the posts of Group C are non-gazetted only. There is a description of different posts in the notification but broadly these government jobs are available to the candidates.

After selection, candidates get jobs on these posts.

  • Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in various ministries and departments.
  • Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) in Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
  • Assistant Accounts Officer in this department.
  • Income Tax Inspector in CBDT.
  • Inspector in Central Excise & Customs (CBEC).
  • Sub-Inspector in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), National Investigation Agency (NIA).
  • Assistant Enforcement Officer (AEO) in Directorate of Enforcement.
  • Assistant in IB.
  • Divisional Accountant, Auditor and Accountant in CAG Office.
  • Senior Secretariat Assistant/Upper Division Clerk in various Ministries and Departments.

How much salary do you get

On being selected for these posts, candidates also get a good salary. This is the reason why lakhs of candidates appear for this exam every year. It varies according to the post, we are sharing rough information here.

Group B (Gazetted and Non-Gazetted posts)

  • Assistant Section Officer – Monthly salary ranges from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400.
  • Assistant Audit Officer – Monthly salary ranges from Rs 47,600 to Rs 1,51,100.
  • Assistant Account Officer – Monthly salary ranges from Rs 47,600 to Rs 1,51,100.
  • Inspector Income Tax – Monthly salary ranges from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400.
  • Inspector Central Excise and Custom – Monthly salary ranges from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400.

Group C (Non Gazetted Officer)

  • Sub Inspector, CBI – Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month.
  • Sub Inspector, NIA – Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month.
  • Assistant in IB – Salary ranges from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month.
  • Assistant Enforcement Officer – Gets salary ranging from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month.
  • Divisional Accountant – Salary ranges from Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month.
  • Junior Statistical Officer – Salary ranges from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month.
  • Auditor – Salary ranges from Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month.
  • Accountant – Salary ranging from Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 per month.

Status, fame and money

There is a lot of competition among the candidates for these jobs because after joining here, you get position, prestige, money, everything. There is job security, apart from salary, you get many perks, there is promotion with time and there is no risk of losing these jobs (except in extreme cases).
