The report further states that while 436,000 visa permits were given to international students from Canada in the year 2023, this number is expected to be limited to 231,000 by the end of the year 2024. This shows that there may be a 39 percent decrease in the acceptance of global visa applications i.e. in getting study permits this year as compared to last year.
A large number of Indian students
According to the report of India Today, every year a large number of students from India go to Canada for studies. Talking about the year 2022, out of 5.5 lakh international students coming to Canada, 2.26 lakh students were from India. Not only this, 3.2 lakh Indians are living in Canada on student visa, who are contributing a lot in boosting the economy there.

Canada’s intention to invite fewer students to its country can be understood from many things. The financial burden has been increased, immigration policies have been made difficult. Overall, Canada’s behavior does not seem to be supportive towards international students.
