South’s famous actress and model Kadambari Jethani has made serious allegations against three IPS officers. Kadambari claims that these officers not only arrested her without any investigation or evidence, but also threatened and mentally harassed her. A DG rank officer is also involved in this case. According to Kadambari, during the previous government, these police officers had threatened her to withdraw the complaint, otherwise she would have to face serious consequences.
Earlier this year, Kadambari was arrested on charges of fraud on the complaint of a YSR Congress leader. Now, after his complaint, the Chandrababu Naidu government of Andhra Pradesh has suspended the three IPS officers. These include the name of DG rank IPS officer P. Sitaram Anjaneyulu. P. Sitaram is a 1992 batch IPS officer who has served as Inspector General in the Border Security Force (BSF).

P. Sitaram returned to Andhra Pradesh cadre after the Jagan Mohan Reddy government came to power in June 2019. He was appointed the head of the state intelligence agency and was later entrusted with important posts such as Transport Commissioner and Secretary of the Public Service Commission. Apart from this, he has also been the Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Kadambari Jethani alleges that these officers wrongly arrested her and tortured her mentally and physically. After this serious complaint, the Andhra Pradesh government has taken immediate action and suspended the officers.

The three officers suspended in the case include 2004 batch IPS officer Kranti Rana Tata and 2010 batch IPS officer Vishal Gunni. Kranti Rana Tata was earlier the police commissioner of Vijayawada and is now an IG rank officer. This 2004 batch officer was suspended by the Election Commission after a complaint was lodged against him for pelting stones at Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada during the assembly elections.
On the other hand, Vishal Gunni is a 2010 batch IPS officer and has recently been promoted as DIG. He was appointed DIG of Visakhapatnam Range. Before promotion, Vishal Gunni was working as Police Commissioner (Law and Order) of Vijayawada city. He has served as ASP from 2013 to 2015 and has also been OSD of Visakhapatnam.

Who is Kadambari Jethani
Kadambari Jethani is a well-known South actress and also a doctor. She has worked in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Punjabi films. Kadambari alleges that these three officers detained her and her family for 40 days and tortured them physically and mentally.
