Bollywood film industry’s ‘Crime Master Gogo’ is celebrating his 72nd birthday on 3 September. Born in a middle class family, Shakti Kapoor’s film journey was not easy at all. Shakti Kapoor’s real name is Sunil Sikandarlal Kapoor, but he changed his name on Sanjay Dutt’s insistence. When Shakti Kapoor was working with Sanjay Dutt in the film ‘Rocky’, Sanjay told him that Sunil Sikandarlal Kapoor does not match his personality. Shakti Kapoor started his career with the film ‘Qurbani’ released in 1975. He got the offer for this film thanks to Feroz Khan and after that he never looked back.

An accident changed Shakti Kapoor’s life

Shakti Kapoor had told that one day his car collided with Feroz Khan’s Mercedes where he met the actor for the first time and told him about his acting diploma. One of his friends was also working in ‘Qurbani’, with whose help Shakti Kapoor got the offer of the film. The actor has completed three decades in this industry and even today his characters are in the hearts of the people. After doing negative roles, Shakti Kapoor gradually became a popular comedy star and became famous in the role of Nandu in David Dhawan’s film ‘Raja Babu’. He received his first Filmfare Award for this film.
