Pankaj Tripathi used to work in hotel
During the conversation on the show, the topic of working in a hotel came up. On this Pankaj Tripathi said, ‘I was in the kitchen in the hotel. Earlier he was a trainee. Stayed in different departments for six-seven months, mostly in Continental, Chinese, Pantry Bakery. During this time, I had a chef who realized that I should be made a supervisor. He felt that I manage people well and entertain, so I was also a kitchen supervisor for a year.

The conversation progressed and the question came related to Manoj Vayapayee’s slippers. India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma asked, ‘You did mischief there too. Stole Manoj Bajpayee’s shoes? In response to this, Pankaj Tripathi said, ‘So Guru had raised it in devotion. You want some trace of Guru to remain… So Guru ji had gone after checking out the hotel and he had left one of his rubber slippers, so the housekeeping person told me. I had gone to service his room. Touched his feet and said, if you have any problem, tell me what you want to eat. That’s why I said, give me the slippers that he left behind in housekeeping. I had brought it so that I could at least practice putting my feet in Guru’s shoes. He said what if I make a claim somewhere? So I said we will buy a new branded one and get it couriered to them. Slipper of the same brand…’ On this, he was asked whether he made a claim, to which Pankaj Tripathi said, ‘He didn’t even know and that slipper changed my fate.’
