Earlier, in an interaction with ANI, Kiran Rao spoke about the casting and why she chose Ravi Kishan over Aamir Khan. Kiran Rao said, “Aamir loved the role and even auditioned for it, but I felt that since he is a star, there will be more expectations from him if he plays the character. Aamir was bringing a star baggage to the role. So, we wanted someone who was so fit for the role that you don’t know what he does next. Ravi Kishan is amazing, I felt no one could be Manohar better than him.”
