Born on 6 August 1965 in Malad, Mumbai, Nitin Desai has been an art lover since childhood. Growing up, Nitin Desai found his footing in the film world and started his career in the year 1988 with the film ‘Salaam Bombay’. The next film in Nitin’s career, which began as an art director, was ‘Parinda’. After this, the journey of decorating sets began and big directors gave him the command of their films. Nitin continued to work in about 64 films in his career including Lagaan, Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Jodha Akbar. But fed up with his life, Nitin Desai was found hanging in his Karjat studio on 2 August 2023 last year. Nitin Desai breathed his last on the sets he spent his life decorating.
