Teachers Day 2024
Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on September 5 to honour the contribution of teachers to society. This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan who was a philosopher, writer and the second President of India. The relationship between a teacher and a student is very special. Teachers play an important role in making their students’ lives successful and Bollywood has portrayed this relationship very well in many of its films. Many hit films have been made on the relationship between Guru and Shishya.
Super 30 (2019):
The film is based on the life of Anand Kumar who is a mathematician and runs a free coaching institute for poor students. Anand Kumar is played by Hrithik Roshan in the film and the film also stars Mrinal Thakur and Pankaj Tripathi.
Tare Zameen Par (2007):
The film tells the story of a dyslexic child who is helped by his art teacher to overcome his learning difficulties. Aamir Khan directed and starred in the film, which also stars Darsheel Safary and Tisca Chopra.
Paathshala (2010):
Shahid Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Ayesha Takia’s brilliant film ‘Paathshaala’ is based on the special bond between teacher and student. In the film, Shahid goes against the school management and helps the children.
Hichki (2018):
In this film, Rani Mukerji plays the role of a teacher suffering from Tourette syndrome who decides to teach poor children. The film has received very good reviews from both critics and audiences.
Black (2005):
The film is based on the relationship between a blind and deaf girl and her teacher who helps her break the barriers of her disability. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film stars Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan.
Iqbal (2001):
The film is based on a deaf and mute boy cricketer and his mentor who helps him become successful in life. Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of the mentor in the film who guides Iqbal to fulfill his dream of playing in the Indian cricket team.
