The actress told that according to her, South films tell more ‘rooted’ stories, that’s why they are liked so much by the audience. By ‘rooted’ she meant stories connected to the ground.
Why are South Indian movies becoming successful?
In a recent conversation, the host asked Tamannaah how Bollywood films are different from South films, to which she replied, ‘The difference I have noticed is that South films talk more in terms of their geographical locations. I think their content is getting translated globally mainly because they are trying to tell original stories.’
What are the stories of South Indian films like?
He further added, ‘They don’t work from the perspective of choosing a few people. They choose stories about basic human emotions, mother, father… revenge for brother, sister… which tells many more stories about basic human emotions through different storytelling formats. They are also very concerned about the way they want to present their point of view. They are not trying to cater to different kinds of people. They are just trying to tell what they know very well. I think that has really worked for the South.’
Tamanna’s statement on Bollywood
Tamanna also said that many times in Bollywood, films are made for ‘entertainment of everyone’, which may not be effective. She praised ‘Laapta Ladies’ and said that very good things have been said about the people in it. Talking about the work of the actress, Tamanna was last seen in ‘Veda’. She had a small role in John Abraham’s film. Apart from this, she also appeared in ‘Stree 2’. She had a dance number in this film which has become a huge hit and people are making a lot of reels on it. Now soon the actress will be seen in the Telugu film ‘Odela 2’ and the web series ‘Daring Partners’.
