Can Blue Zone Diet keep a person alive for 100 years, what is the reality?

Can you imagine living in such an environment or among such people where living till the age of 100 is a common thing? This is not a dream, this happens in the real world. Yes, there are many countries in the world which claim themselves to be in Blue Zones. The maximum age of a human being is up to 100 years and every human being wants to live till the age of 100 years. Many people reach the age of 100 years but not everyone can reach this age. To live to be 100 years old, you will have to adopt a better diet and a healthy lifestyle.

What is Blue Zone?

According to doctors, we can live to 100 years with the food found in the Blue Zone. The food there contains different types of nutrients which fulfill all the needs of our body. Actually, Blue Zones are those countries of the world where people live till the age of 100 years or more. Diabetes, cancer, heart disease and obesity are rarely seen in people living in the Blue Zones. These countries include Japan, Okinawa, Sardinia, Italy, Ikaria, Greece, Loma Linda, California and Nicoya Island in Costa Rica. People of these places follow a special kind of diet (Blue Zone Diet), which is now becoming popular among the common people also. Thanks to this diet one can live for more than 100 years. National Geographic Fellow Dan Buettner has created a special diet for people who live in the Blue Zones. It is mostly plant based. About 95% of their diet consists of vegetables, fruits, grains and legumes. All of them eat less meat, dairy, sweets and processed foods. It is claimed that you can also fulfill your wish of living for 100 years by following these diets.

Apart from this, keep a plant based diet. Of this, 95-100% should come from the plant. Consume as much leafy greens, fruits and vegetables as possible. Use healthy oil. Use only blunt based oil like olive for cooking and salads. Include beans and legumes in your diet for protein and fiber.

Include nuts in your diet. Eat at least a handful of nuts for nutrients. Do not be careless in drinking water. If you want, you can also get other liquid things. Consume minimum amount of fish and meat. Also limit the consumption of eggs and dairy products. Avoid including extra sugar in your diet.
