Sitaram Yechury, a prominent leader of Indian politics and Communist Party of India (Marxist), died on 12 September 2024 at 3:05 pm. He was 72 years old. He was admitted to AIIMS on 19 August 2024 due to pneumonia. Yechury was ill for a long time. His family has donated his body to AIIMS, New Delhi for education and research purposes. This will make his legacy go beyond his political contributions.
