What is the difference between ICSI and IVF?
ICSI- There are many couples around the world who are deprived of the joy of becoming parents. The most common treatment for male infertility practiced among people is ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection).
ICSI is given to couples in whom IVF treatment is failing.
Sperm count in men is increased through ICSI.
Women who have undergone IVF treatment are also treated through ICSI.
IVF- IVF is a medical technique with the help of which infertile couples can have children. In this, the woman’s eggs and the man’s sperm are taken out of the body. By mixing these in the laboratory, embryos are prepared. This embryo is then implanted in the woman’s uterus. IVF has a good success rate and many infertile couples have become parents with its help. IVF i.e. In Vitro Fertilization is a very successful reproductive technique through which many couples have got pregnancy success. The time from starting the IVF cycle to getting a positive pregnancy test is usually 4 to 6 weeks.
The cost of IVF depends on the hospital, city and type of treatment. Generally, the cost of undergoing IVF in India ranges between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. But if efforts have to be made several times, this expense can go up to Rs 2-5 lakh. Age of the woman – 30 to 35 years is considered most suitable for IVF because the quality of eggs is better at this age. Age of the man – 40-45 years of age of men is suitable for IVF because the quality of sperms remains good till this age. Right time of menstruation – The most suitable time for IVF process is between the 10th day to the 20th day of menstruation.
