Importance of World Anesthesia Day

History of World Anesthesia Day

World Anesthesia Day is celebrated every year on 16 October, it was established by the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA). In fact, American dentist and physician William Thomas Green Morton demonstrated diethyl ether anesthesia on October 16, 1846, this incident became history in medical history, so this day started being celebrated as World Anesthesia Day since then.

Why is anesthesia necessary?

Anesthesia is given to render the patient unconscious before any surgery. Anesthesia is in the form of gas and vapor, which is injected into the patient’s body.
