Congress leader Jagdish Tytler gets a blow from the court in the Sikh riots case.

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has directed to frame charges against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 Pul Bangash Sikh massacre case. The court has said that there is sufficient evidence to frame charges against Jagdish Tytler, the accused in the case. Charges have been framed against Jagdish Tytler under sections 143, 153A, 188, 149 etc. read with 302.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, this case is related to the murder of three Sikhs near Gurdwara Pul Bangash in 1984 and arson in the religious place. This incident happened after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The CBI had filed a supplementary chargesheet in this case against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

The victims had seen Jagdish Tytler- Lawyer

Reacting to the court’s order, lawyer HS Phoolka said that the victims said that they saw Jagdish Tytler leading the mob. It was at Tytler’s behest that the gurdwara was set on fire and 3 Sikhs were burnt alive. The lawyer said that initially no case was registered due to political pressure and money power. A case was registered against Tytler after the Nanavati Commission report in 2005. The CBI acted in haste and filed a close report in 2007 without proper investigation. Lawyer HS Phoolka said that after hearing our arguments, today the court has framed charges against Tytler. Now the case will be filed against him, we hope he will go to jail soon.

On the court order, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Harmeet Singh Kalka has said that the Sikh community fought for 40 years. We had only one goal, to send these murderers to jail. Kalka said that we have got a big relief today. We hope that Jagdish Tytler will go to jail soon.
