2 train accidents averted in one day; Nuts and bolts of Jammu Mail’s saucer got loose in Kanpur, seven trains including Vande Bharat affected

Two trains narrowly escaped accidents in Kanpur on Sunday. 14034 Jammu Mail escaped an accident four and a half hours after a cylinder was found in the loop line of Prempur railway station between Kanpur Central and Fatehpur on the Delhi-Howrah railway route.

On Sunday, 14034 Jammu Mail escaped an accident four and a half hours after a cylinder was found in the loop line of Prempur railway station between Kanpur Central and Fatehpur on the Delhi-Howrah rail route. The nuts and bolts of the soccer of a coach of Jammu Mail going from Kanpur to Prayagraj came off and fell near Prempur station. With this, one of the coaches of the train started shaking. Just then the red signal was given due to which the train stopped right there. During this, the patrolling point man Kamlesh noticed it. He immediately informed the authorities. The nuts and bolts were tightened on the spot. After this the train could leave after about 45 minutes.

After the cylinder was found on the track near Prempur railway station, police, GRP and RPF officials were investigating. During this time, due to lack of signal, the loco pilot stopped the Jammu Mail going from Kanpur to Prayagraj on the down line. At this time, pointman Kamlesh, who was standing on the side of the track, noticed a compartment and saw that the nut-bolt of the wheel’s socket was missing. The railway engineer investigated after which the repair was done and after about 45 minutes the train was sent forward.

This train reached Prempur at 10.27 due to lack of signal and left from there at 11.11. In this affair, seven trains including Vande Bharat Express got stuck. Jammu Mail was pushed back a little and Vande Bharat was taken out from the loop line. After some time, the train operations started smoothly. RPF Inspector BP Singh said that the nut of the saucer had become loose and after fixing it, Jammu Mail was sent off.
