7 thousand Hindu families in Fatehpur Doaba are trapped in the net of conversion, shocking revelations

7 thousand Hindu families in Doaba of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh got trapped in the trap of conversion. Hindu organizations here claim that more than seven thousand families in the Doaba area alone have embraced Islam and Christianity after being trapped in the trap of illegal conversion. When voices were raised against this, the police registered 34 cases but the investigation of most of them is pending. It is being told that not only Panthuva resident Shyam Pratap Singh alias Umar Gautam inspired conversion, but many Islamic organizations and Christian missionaries here made the poor and uneducated people victims of illegal conversion by luring them with money.

Sleeper cells of Islamic organizations active

In 2001, intelligence agencies had conducted large scale raids in Doaba in connection with Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). A case was registered against three people. However, in 2009, the court acquitted all three. During the investigation of this case, the presence of many Islamic organizations and their sleeper cells was found in the district. It was revealed that the organizations and their sleeper cells brainwash poor Hindu families and motivate them to convert. When some cases were exposed in Muslim dominated Lalauli, Haswa, Mohammadpur Gauti, Airaya, Hindu organizations raised their voice but nothing happened. It is being claimed that some such organizations are still active in Doaba for illegal conversion.

Christian missionary came to light in 2009

In 2009, when the matter of mass conversion came to light in TC village of Haswa, the then MP Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti created a ruckus along with Hindu organizations. According to the Sadhvi, missionaries are more dangerous than Islamic organizations. They trap the poor by giving them buffaloes, goats and other benefits and do the work of illegal conversion. In 2009, on getting information about mass conversion of about 12 families, all of them were sent back home. In 2012 also, work was done to stop mass conversion in this village.

A case was filed against the Vice Chancellor of SHUATS

On April 15, 2022, Hindu organizations created a ruckus in the case of mass conversion in the church located in Hariharganj. There was an allegation of conversion of 90 people here. The police had registered a case against 60 people including the priest and sent more than a dozen to jail. In the investigation, the involvement of SHUATS Vice Chancellor RB Lal, Mission Hospital nurses and staff and Word Vision Company was found in illegal conversion. On January 20, 2023, Sarvendra Vikram Singh, resident of Gosaiganj Sultanpur, filed a report against 48 people, naming SHUATS Vice Chancellor RB Lal, Director Vinod Bihari Lal and 11 others. On January 23 last year, Hariharganj Nappi Ka Hata resident Virendra Kumar and Hariharganj resident Sanjay Singh had filed a case of conversion. SIT was formed to investigate five cases of conversion.

Crores of funding from 20 countries including America, Britain

After the name of Lal brothers of SHUATS came to light in the illegal conversion case, many important facts came to light in the investigation. The documents recovered by the police during the raid at SHUATS and other places confirmed that crores of rupees have been funded from 20 countries including America, Britain in the name of illegal conversion. The police have mentioned the funding of crores in the case filed against the accused including RB Lal in the Supreme Court. The investigation also revealed that other organizations including Word Vision indirectly identify the poor and provide them financial help and connect them by providing free treatment in the missionary hospital. In the SIT investigation, many priests and other accused are in jail, Lal brothers including RB Lal have got relief from the court.

34 cases of conversion registered, charge sheet in one

Talking about police records, 34 cases of illegal conversion have been registered in various police stations of Doaba, out of which 33 are under investigation. Police has filed a chargesheet in the case filed by teacher Kalpana Singh against Maulana Umar Gautam, the school manager and his son.

The first case was registered in Lalauli

After the government made strict laws against illegal conversion, the first case of illegal conversion was registered in Lalauli police station. A village resident Raju son of Mianbabu was accused of luring a teenager and taking her away and forcibly converting her and marrying her. According to the police, after the investigation of the case was completed, a charge sheet has been filed in the court.

Hindu Jagran Samiti will be formed in every village

VHP’s provincial vice-president Virendra Pandey said that illegal conversion has deep roots in the district. He alleged that about seven thousand families have been affected. Hindu Jagran Samiti is being formed in every village to stop illegal conversion. This committee will also work to bridge the caste gap. Every three months, the committees will also hold a meeting at the divisional level.

Former minister said- officers should be strict

Former Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said that Islamic organizations and missionaries are converting poor families illegally by trapping them in deceit. The administration should take strict action against such people. A time limit should be fixed for the investigation of such cases and strict punishment should be given while hearing the case in fast track court. She said that the government is strict about the matter but due to the poor working style of administrative officers, the activities of such people are increasing.

SP Fatehpur Dhawal Jaiswal said that a chargesheet has been filed in the case filed by teacher Kalpana against Maulana Umar Gautam, while five cases related to SHUATS are pending in the Supreme Court. Other cases of conversion are also being investigated speedily. Police is taking strict action in such cases.
